PROFILE:

Working as a  Rational Emotive Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and (REBT) Therapist for the last 30 years, I have worked in various Diverse Community settings. My Professional experience involves working with service users and clients from the Community to Encourage and Promote Harm Minimising and Empowerment. Working in this setting demands good listening skills and more. This is where my Counselling Skills come into effect.  I work very effectively within a Team, and on my own Initiative and sharing Good Practice. When working with the Service Users I compile factual reports and update Action Care Plans, adhearing to Data Protection and Client Confidentiality. Having contact with the local Surgeries and Social Services dept; Police and Ambulance services, Victims Support, Probation Services and Drugs and Alcohol Services, Voluntary and Statutory (NHS), Mental Health etc.

I pride myself in being an Excellent Communicator and enjoy working with people and consider myself to be a very good Counsellor, Therapist, Trainer, Facilitator and Manager.

I feel one of my best attributes is that I am Naturally Empathic and very Intuitive.

I am able to deal with difficult situations or conflicts, through use of interpersonal and good negotiating skills in order to reach effective solutions. I am competent in Comprehensive Assessment, Brief Intervention. I have a working knowledge of the 12 steps programmes and 3 Phase Model, Relapse Prevention, Anger management, Family Support programmes and Domestic Violence Perpetrators Programmes. I have been working within the 3 Tier Models, with a working knowledge of 1, 2 and 3, which has given me a wealth of experience in the workings of the Drugs and Alcohol field and Mental Health.
